its california law they cant count a fish hooked outside the mouth. thats why the Elite Series had to release alot of fish
I grew up in Escondido,Dixon is a small lake with big bass just like lake Wohlford.That is the world record bass period,these 3 guy’s are hero’s in my book for putting Dotty back in the lake each time they caught her!!!

its sad to say that the biggest largemouth bass i ever caught is 5.2 pounds.

damn wtf man 22.4oz is the WORLD record and these guys had it beat my 3 pounds but foul hooked!!!!! 22lb WORLD RECORD!!! and these guys had a 24-25 POUND fish….. these are true fishermen to not lie about the foul hook man…. FUCK!!! 24-25 POUNDS!!!!! WORLD RECORD 22.4oz!!!! IDK man this is crazy this is way more great than the recent record tie holder and these guys i barley hear about with there 24-25 POUND FISH!
That’s a catch in my book, BEAUTIFUL FISH. I caught a 4 lb’r last year and it was awesome I can’t imagine catching a 20 lb’r. That is awesome guys! Keep fishing!

@DarrenCice If we are having a hard day we go into stealth mode and spot them visually, because almost no bass can resist a fat nightcrawler dropped right in front of it’s face. Sometimes it is the only way we catch anything at all. It depends on the lake, but sight fishing is a very common technique for catching all kinds of fish, and not just when they are spawning. We do it a lot during the dog days for bass in August when oxygen levels are low and they just aren’t moving.

@FishingKing754 and sometimes the fish will go over it and when fisherman cant see there jig or watever they are using there initial reaction is to set the hook.
i say the guy gets a replicka…he deservs it.
when the fish isnt hooked in the mouth then its considered foul hooked. during spawn when setting jigs foul hooking is common. alot of the times a bass will pick up the jig by the trailer and try to move it outside the bedding area. which at that point if u set the hook and the entire jig isnt in the mouth. the jig will hook the face body etc…

How could Weakly have foul hooked the fish when he was using a jig?
