@dchamer71 I always release all my catches. If they are out of the water for too long, I dunk them back in for a few. Thanks for the comments! Peacock bass are surely amazing. I love to fish for them too. I invite you to watch my other videos and my g.f has the biggest of them all. It is a 22 inch monster in the 7 lb range.
Very nice catch! I commend you on your catch and release policy. I’ve been an avid bass angler all of my life. I moved to the Florida panhandle almost 8 years ago, but caught my 1st Peacock 2 years ago when i moved to Ft. Lauderdale. Actually, I caught 2 Peacock, back to back from the canal in my back yard. At least 4-5lbs each. What a fight they put on! Beautiful fish & a beautiful girl, too. Way to go, dude.

I don’t measure mine but my biggest bass was caught in my backyard with rubber Zoom worms in watermelon color. It weighed 4 and a half pounds.
We are not very lucky. We are skilled fishermen. You wish bass in MI were half as good as the FL bass.

Use a size 4/0 hook and hook it through the top lip. Try to leave a lot of hook sticking out so you can set the hook properly.
how do you rig the cichlids? through the head?

on top water or live bait? oh and you are crazy for buy that ricky rod…you’re going to have trouble handling such a small rod while catching big fish.
Eso no era nuna vara RICKY! I just got mines, the small one and I will try it today. We already caught some hawgs in the morning. I got 2 and my g/f one.
not to mention it added insult to injury and fucking broke my Shimano Sojourn rod -_-
