guys relax…if he likes it why change up? i like the quote “use what your familiar with”…

    my favorite familiar setup is:
    shimano curado 201e
    g. loomis cbr857
    luckycraft gunfish ghost minnow
    12lb monofilament (big game/pline cxx)

  • colbybassmaster:

i second that opinion on the curado e i have the curado 200e7- 7.1.1 ratio low profile and its still holding up great after the first year compared to reels that i have that retail for 249.99 and up its just as good and even smoother i like it so much im getting another one and putting it on a powell frog rod in a few weeks

  • Bass1ism:

Go get a Powell 754C,703C, or a 702C great top water rods and go get a new Shimano reel im in love with the Curado E series theres very smooth low profile and light!

  • cali805couple:

nice fish ,you could tell by the video the lake levels are low..suprised you caught one off the dock, usually those get worked here in cali……

  • icthruu4evr:

get a new reel. What is that..a 1963 Diawa? geeze.

  • ofnaman:

you need new spool bearings lol

  • illicit0:

dude? you just named my two favorite topwater lures!!! and yes, his reel needs to be serviced haha. lucky craft rocks!

  • NCbassfishing24:

Nice video! I like using topwater lures for bass myself. My favorites are the Lucky Craft Gunfish 95 and Sammy 100. They compliment the Zara Spook nicely. Also, it sounds like your reel needs to be serviced.

Fact is I feel these fish before I set the hook, and most I do double set. The rod I use is pretty much a broom stick so I doesn’t take much yank to embed the hooks. If you’ll notice the last fish I catch, I pause just slightly before the fish hits, I saw his wake leave the shore at my bait so I new when he was going to hit.

  • Flash8475:

when you set your hook with a spook you need to give it a little more time, and really set the hook, and when you are reeling it in, its OK to set the hook a couple more times.

  • sk8va23464:

    well done
