Far out. I guess I’ve been fishing these types of frogs too slow. They’re pretty much using them as buzz baits. With angry top water bass like that, I wonder if zipping just about anything over their heads at that speed would induce just as many strikes.

  • Markmartinfan10:

I just bought these ribbit frogs. Do you reel them in fast or slow?

  • skaterk1dz:

not all the time like a jitterbug that is more medium to low speed when a buzz bait is more fast pace over lilly pads or weeds it all depends on the type of topwater your fishing

  • larnem:

I love the Ribbit! I fish them at all types of speeds.

  • mgeiman:

These guys are ripping there lures fast through the water. I thought topwaters are more effective when fished slow.

  • bassallyear:

  • semperfi253:

could you do the same thing with a buzzbait and a frog trailer?

  • Fishingstyle101:

This is an outstanding bait in spring through fall. Also good with the swimmax hook.

  • BassAnglerMike33:

and if i find the weighted hooks do these work at night

  • BassAnglerMike33:

what color are you using cuz mine suck and there to light to cast and i cant fine the weighted hook i just cant cast them anywhere

  • johnny0seven:

Ive tried them all and in my opinion, nothing attracts bass more than Stanley Ribbits

  • BassAnglerMike33:

bo i bet the buzzfrogs and the horny toads are better than these

  • catfisher10100:

god i need a boat lol

  • virtualguitarist:

Looks like i might have to get one of these and give it a try. But i know it will not out produce my favorite top water lure the “jitterbug”.

  • mcglothd:

i love this frog i buy the new high floaters in bulk, i fish them in thick hydrilla and in algea the thicker the better the fish are extremely explosive its the best time ive had fishing

  • johnny0seven:

    best frog baits hands down

  • autumndeer2001:

cool. Glad to see your catching the big ones.

  • jhaley12:

by letting it sink i’ve caught at least 5 bass ranging from 4lbs to 7lbs. I’ve fished it on top (hard to set the hook unless they swallow it) and twitching it on the bottom, best luck was sinking.

  • autumndeer2001:

Have you tried it yet? How many have you caught. Give my the detailed…

  • autumndeer2001:

I mainly like to flip in into cover, with hardly any splash and try to keep a stealthy Presintation. Letting it sink to the bottom and then slowly retrieve it.

  • jhaley12:

I also like to fish it by pulling it up and letting it sink, I’ve caught quite a few bass doing this. I’ve wondered about using it on the bottom like you say, I’ll give it a try, I bought some of their weighted hooks to use with them too.

  • autumndeer2001:

I fish mine bumping the bottom at a slow retrieve, using a Gamakatsu EWG hook with XPS 3/8 hook weights. Ive never seen it used in open water. Ive away’s used it in Shady cover, on clear hot day’s when it’s in the upper 80′s. Water temps in the 80′s too.

  • autumndeer2001:

To date the best lure. Ive been using these lures scence the prespawn in 09. Fishing them Topwater/ Bottom/ or in the middle. Let me tell ya, Awsome!! Show me the money babe!!
