6.10 lb. Georgia Bass (Jeff)

Had a small burst of rain , Put on the Buzz baits an Jeff landed the 6er – Cought on Aug. 12th 2006

We weren’t counting on hooking up with a musky on this lake so we had no net… I figured the only way to catch him was by setting the hook as soon as the smallie’s head went in, hoping that it would come out of the smallie and lodge in the lip somewhere. Didn’t happen… That is only 10# mono he is using, so if we hooked him deep, which I would NEVER do on purpose anyway, the line would surely break on the teeth. I guess we could have tried to beach him or something, but this musky was just warming up and had no idea Sal was on the other end of the line until right before the end. Better luck next time Sal. If we had a net I think I could have scooped him up but it would have been crazy and not good for the musky either. We’ll get him this year instead, we know where he lives now.
