Big catfish on a small trout rod/reel

11 lb 5 oz catfish caught and weighed with brand new berkley digi scale in a private pond on a shinner minnow. Rod is a 5’6″ fenwick eagle GT 1-6lb line..reel is shimano axul-s line capacity max @ 6lb/60yrds!!!!! This is a brook trout setup!!!

What kind f setup did you use to catch that fish? ive never caught one that big.

I bet that was a fun fight! ive caught them on little crappie poles with four pound line and 12 pound cats. SO MUCH FUN! great video man.
Dude your so lucky u caught that fish,i got spooled out with a 6lb line a week ago maybe by a 20lb catfish..
you are right!! Its not a big catfish…buts its pretty damn big to be catchin on 6 lb line…jesus people read the description before you post something stupid.

Nice fish, I’ve done it with a 4 ft pole before to, its fun but it broke my reel, I atcually think I might have had a 6 lb test but still, It broke my reel lol
