castnetting huge jacks and trout

www.talonnets.com these were two huge jacks that i chased down the pier and threw my 14ft 24lbr over, i released the biggest one and just this once let my friend have the little one for shark bait, he landed a 9ft shark later that night on it, also there were huge trout goin up and down the beach that we got a few of

    @devolutionizreal hey man it never hurts to try. i tried jack the first time i caught one, my grandma told me they were bad too but it turned out to be very delicious. but u are rite the meat is verry dark. i guess it is just the way u cook them, but next time u catch one get a good recipee and cook one up.

    hey man this is real nice video. I live in bradenton FL and about 30 min from anna maria city pier. Im planning to head out there on this saturday and I would really appreciate if you have any information or situation of that pier if you went there recently… I’m pretty sure there are spanish mackerels but what else out there right now? Are there some sheepsheads??? I really appreciate it wish you put some more videos from that pier!!!

    Jacks actually taste pretty good, depends on how you make them. The bigger they get, less tasty(2+ ft.)

    @Winkiedoodles i’ve heard of people eating them but my uncle tried it one time and told me it was so bad he couldn’t even get it to his mouth lol, he said it’s very red meat, i always let them go so i don’t know if it’s true

    @strikenetter thanks man, yea there were so many tourists that it was hard to get the schools of jacks close enough to the pier to net and they were in the way constantly haha i chased these down the pier full speed, spun and threw, covered em both
