@xXcam0manXx Sounds good, do just that, and keep fishing.
@kawabunga66 iknow i want to make some videos sooo bad…but i havent got around to buyin a camera yet, cause everything i plan on buying one i go an by a new rod and reel or a bunch of baits….but when i do get a camera(hopefully soon) i will.. and i been fishing every morning at leg lake in socal and been manging 5-10 bass on spooks and poppers every morning and havent pulled one fish off yet,but have broke one off….and no hurtting arms or anything..either….(6’6 med rod fast action)
@xXcam0manXx I am pretty much done, post a video and see where it goes. You seem very qualified to comment but nothing to back it up, ” pros views ” ect. Prove to me you have one tournement win, or even a good place in a tournement, and I WILL BELIEVE YOU, and your theories of presenting a bait.
@kawabunga66 like u said thats ur point of view…. not mine or a lot of pros views either….and i use heavy mono too.. and the softer rod doesnt make a sloppy feel or sloppy presentation…but a easy and less movement on ur behalf .to make the lure walk the dog….and the drag system on a reel doesnt take any stiff-ness away just reduces the chance of pull.
so good luck landing ur fish there budy and have fun putting icey hot on at the end of the day
@xXcam0manXx Its a point of view at this point, I use mono for the most part, and long casts. Mono has a lot of stretch, this can in fact reduce the effects of a stiff rod, compared to braid and no stretch in the line. Also, new reels have incredable drag systems which can also reduce stiff rod issues on hook set. The stiff rod helps lure presentation and control which equals a more natural lure to the fish. Weak tips in walk the dog situations equals sloppy feel and presentation of the bait.
@kawabunga66 like i said in my first comment i usually really agree with ur theorys on bass fishing…and respect ur knowledge on bass and im glad u have so many other accomplishments…but im sure if u would just learn to use the right equipment
for the right lure…u would see a huge improvement in ur lure technique, hookup ratio, and less fatigue.
maybe something will change ur mind about using that stiff rod…which is great for pin point spinnerbait fishing….and learn to use a softer rod
@xXcam0manXx Funny how you suddenly turn, bass fishing is just one of my ventures, the latest. Its been something I love to do and been doing for 30 years, and now gone back to… prior to being sponsered by Santa cruz for vert skating for years, and owning my own clothing boutique of my designes for 11 years, its something I wanted to do. As far as being in flw or bass, I’m entering them soon, my friend Jared Litner would approve. I only do these shows because its something I believe in.
@kawabunga66 damn ur old….lol well if your such a good topwater fisherman and being fishing spooks for 30 years…how come ur not fishing in the FLW or BASS….huh….yeap thats what i thought lol…
okay when u become a well know basspro…i listen to u about your “theory” on the heavier rod….untill then…i know ur wrong …with the control and stuff….cause its like using a punching rod…to throw crankbaits with…..just to stiff for proper movement…with out having to really work it
@xXcam0manXx In fishing spooks and other walk the dog topwater lures the stiff rod allows a lot more control over the bait. I’ve been fishing the spook for almost 30 years and have used many rod types, its the best for presentation of the lure. In other types of topwater baits, I do use a softer tips for the reasons you said.
@kawabunga66 i think ur mistaken there man…i usually agree with your theorys but not this time…..ur dead wrong… a lighter power rod…gives the bait more movement because the lightness in the action..lets the line have move slack.. and we a fish hits ur lures u dont set the hook..u just let the fish load up on the rod and start cranking…its like a spring…(and doesnt rip the hooks out like that medheavy rod ur using does)…and yea if they miss they miss….that means they didnt eat it
@xXcam0manXx if your thinking I missed fish because my rod is to heavy you are mistaken. A stiff rod when surface fishing not only helps you present the bait better it helps you feel the fish. If they miss they miss, if I feel them they get caught.
your rod is to heavy man…u should be using a 6-6 med….or med light so the hooks dont pull….its not the hooks fault its the rods…. 97% of the time i land the fish i hooked when im using my 6-6 med light Fenwick casting rod… just caught 3 today on it with a redandwhite spook..and not pulled off
DAMN, THA REEL SOUNDS HORRIBLE
Nice video
Replace your stock Trebles with Owners Stinger trebles and they dont throw them much… Best hooks on the market by far.
VERY VERY PRODUCTIVE LAKE !!!…..the big ones are out there, lol…i know, i’ve mastered that lake, lopez, santa margarita, cachuma……but LOPEZ takes the cake……” you should be catching more fish than that “
Oil your reel!
nice great job
Even though you say you were nervous. I do not see it. I love how calm you are with this being your first. I can see you doing this all the time. I am still a teacher in progress.
not a huge bass fan,but congratulation
