  • brianmoc:

30 lbs? Maybe 20 but nowhere near 30.

  • DannyAlkhateeb:

Hi there, amazing video ..where is this location ???

  • brianmoc:

@northshorerathunta the video is in 2d so when the rod tip drops like that in the video its running down the face of the rocks. You have to take that risk to keep the line off the top of the rocks. PLUS ITS 14 Pound Test!!!!! :) on a 30 pound fish! :) & no net is better than the old school gaff? Ya, a gaff i do not have one but they are there.

  • northshorerathunta:

Not trying to insult anyone, but Im surprised he landed it.He was throwing a lot of slack in the line and pointing the rodtip at the fish during the fight.Doing this will give a big fish the chance to throw the hook.Dragging it up the rocks then dropping it doesnt boost return survival rates either.A good quality landing net makes things so much easier.

  • hehekid1:

@brianmoc yeah thats sweet- catch and release is the only way to go. sweet vid btw

  • brianmoc:

@hehekid1 ya, they are out for about 3min but its hard to watch you back for waves, not slip, get hocked as it moves. :) its not a beach. he tried! :) & the key is its back in the wate running free. .

  • hehekid1:

wow yeah honestly that fish was out for a while! nice catch though looks like fun

  • BNelly22:

would be good to work some water over that fish’s gills after having been out of the water for a few minutes. Get her feeling lively again before releasing. Realize that might be difficult from those rocks – but he looked pretty spry hopping back and forth. Just a thought. Nice fish!

  • TheSkimmingFreak:

    nice catch

  • irrmua:
