For more tips visit myoutdoortv.com Catch and release really works when it comes to fishing. The key is proper handling of the fish. First, you want to get the fish in the boat as fast as you can. Second, don’t sling the fish into the boat and let it flop around. This knocks off scales and hurts the slime layer. Lift the fish by hand, preferably by the lower jaw and let the fish’s tail point perpendicular to the boat. Lastly, try to get the fish back in the water within 1 minute. Lay the fish gently into the water. Don’t “toss” it in.
