Shimano – the fishy market leader

Shimano – the fishy market leader

Shimano is the world leader in manufacturing fishing gear. They know that technology advances, techniques evolve, and styles change. However, the goals remain the same – which is to catch fish, be part of nature, and enjoy the sport of fishing. From simply relaxing at a secluded fishing hole or mountain stream, to winning a prestigious bass tournament or catching that gander marlin, the emotions experienced can be just as varied. Shimano has included the latest technological advances and designs so that the customers can be rest assured that every kind of situation has been tackled available.

Shimano’s conventional fishing reels include Tekota level wind reels which are a durable, high-speed reel that casts well and has been designed for years of comfort and ease of use. Shimano’s Torium reels are also popular among fishing enthusiasts, along with Speed master High Ratio Game fish reel TD reels, TLD Star drag reels and Trinidad Narrow Specials for high speed and less wobble, Moocher plus GD reels featuring a new metal palming ring which gives a smooth and powerful platform designed for comfort.

Shimano also has a huge range of spinning reels which include Bait runner D Spinning reels which are a new compact profile lineup of bait runners that can handle any live bait application from small 400 sizes of freshwater and inshore species to large 12000 sizes of blue water species.

Shimano fishing rods include Calcutta rods, TLD rods, Tallus casting and spinning, Blue Water Atlantic series rods, Casting V and Spinning V rods. The Tallus International Game Fish Association series of trolling rods were created for 50-lb., 80-lb. and 130-lb. line class ratings. These world-class saltwater rods are built utilizing the most advanced engineering technology available combined with a close partnership between our field testers, local guides, dealers and customers. The series also allows anglers to customize their purchases by offering either the tip section without the AFTCO Unibutt or the entire rod, including the butt. Offering both options means anglers who already own AFTCO butts now have the flexibility to use Tallus IGFA tips.

A huge list of boat accessories include towers, booms, racks, towers, wake enhancers, props, timing and speed control, owned skier flags, boat misting systems, speakers and lights, mirrors, showers and heaters, tow accessories, and many more. Shimano’s boat accessories include a Bristol Bay Bag and Banar boat deck bags featuring a water-proof soft bottom, EVA Handles and a convenient mesh pocket inside the top lid. It is great to be used for reels, cameras, GPS and other gear that needs to stay dry.

Using soft plastics now and topwaters due to the low fall river levels on the Vermillion River Big dam. I just had to try this black lizard and wasnt sure how the smallmouth would react but it was working good. I caught this 3 pounder and a 2 pound smally this day but no larges. Shallow diver bandit tennesee shad was the taker too with just 2 large split shot and crossing the current in front of the dam. I was using 12 pound test big game by Berkley. I lost a good 4 or 5 pound smallmouth the biggest I ever caught here but when I tried to haul it up the dam with out jumping down to the bottom and lippinbg it was a big mistake. So to all you that fish this dam be sure if you can jump down there and get it or you will lose it. Also remember there is a huge smallmouth down there now that you could catch weighing about 5 pounds. Fall fishing now is the best times coming up and the big ones are feeding. My favorite time of year.
