“All About Bass” Episode 2, pt. 1 – Messin’ with the Mighty Mississip
In the second episode of “All About Bass,” host Rich Lindgren prepares for a June 28 Bassmasters Weekend Series tournament on the Mississippi River’s Pool 4, between Red Wing, Minn. and Alma, Wisc. In this segment, Rich works a dead-end cut full of shallow timber with a variety of baits, hooking up several times pitching jigs and soft plastics. Lindgren, a Lakeville resident, fishes regional bass tournaments and writes for fishing websites, including his own “Rich’s Bassin’ Blog” (bassinblog.richlindgren.com and “Bassin Insider” for the Versus Channel’s website (www.versuscountry.com/blogpage.aspx?bid=8). On July 11, Rich won the Gopher Bassmasters Tournament on Rush Lake (Minn.) with a five-fish bag weighing 14.86 pounds – about 3.7 pounds better than second place. On July 12, he won the Gopher Bassmasters Tournament on Knife Lake (Minn.) with 14.59lbs – which was “barely good enough for first place,” he said. “I really thought it would take more weight to win this lake, I think we caught it on a bad day.” With the win, he advanced to the Final Four of Gopher Match fishing and jumped from 4th to 1st in the overall standings. And how did Rich fare in the June 28 tournament on the river? Tune in and find out! “All About Bass” is produced, photographed and directed by mnsun.com editor Greg Huff.
