Are Bass Pro Shop brand reels any good?

If you’ve used one please let me know. Also, how is the “bass pro shops tournament pro baitcast reel” versus the “abu garcia black max”? Thanks for the help.
btw i am specifically talking about the baitcast reels

i think that they are pretty good
I HAVEN’T used them but, from other people on here liking them, i’m guessing they are pretty good. They have just as much quality gear as Shakespeare.
I love the Abu Garcia Black Max. I don’t own it but it looks great.
hey man, i can guarantee you one thing. bass pro will not put their name in junk. i have a few bass pro brand things and i have used a couple bass pro reels and they all have worked great. now with the other part of the question bass pro v/s the abu garcia…ohhhhhhh man it would be a very very close call but i would have to give it to the abu. abu makes some great products as well. that race would be very very close. man i hope that helps you out a bit good luck good fishin be safe and remember to share the experience
Like any brand of reel there are good and bad. After checking out the BPS reel you mentioned (in my opinion) I’d pass on it.
BPS makes better reels in that price range such as-

The Black Max is an OK starter reel but if I were you I’d save my money and purchase something that will last longer and have a better drag system. Read the reviews on the Max. I’d rather save another $20-$30 and get something more “solid” than have to purchase ANOTHER reel in 12 months.
