Does anyone know where I can buy a well-priced live-well for a bass tournament?

I made mine for salt water live lining. Get the sized barrel you need and i would definitely recommend a round one. Drill one hole in the bottom and one near the top. Then attach a bilge pump to a 12 volt battery with a hose to force water into the drum. Put a hose coming out of the top hole overboard so when the water reaches that level it will go overboard. You need to keep the water moving. If the water is stagnant the fish will use up the oxygen and die. You can tell when they are lacking oxygen when they poke their nose to the surface constantly. To avoid this you can buy a 12 volt aerator. Good Luck

this is what alot of guys (myself included) around here do when they are in their small aluminum boats with no livewell…. use a large cooler like a 60qt.. go to your favorite tackle shop and get a basic ‘livewell aerator’ it comes with a pump and a spray bar. stick the pump to the bottom of your cooler with the provided suction cups and then fill the cooler about 3/4 of the way up with lake water then attach the 2 wire leads to a trolling battery or starting battery. boom! instant cheap insulated livewell! works like a charm for bass tourneys when fishing in a small boat. just be careful when opening the “livewell” as bass have a nasty tendency to try to jump out and escape their temporary domicile!

we sell alot of this particular aerator at my tackle shop for this exact purpose….
