These are very good tournaments. You don’t have to join a so called club but you do have to become a member. I hope this helps.

Well as for clubs they are not that expensive to join so I would consider that. Besides that you have the ABA/BASS Weekend Series where as a boater you can qualify for the Bassmaster Classic. The FLW tour has the BFL one day events also. Outside of that you should check of regional trails in your part of the midwest. Here in the south, their are several regional trails I can fish. I would also consider the Fishers of Men series its a class organization.
Keep a eye out for tournaments that are listed as “open” this usually means they are open to anyone, without having to be in a club.
