any and all tournaments fish all day every day rain or 110 degree days if you catch fish then your damn good
1st thing you got a bass boat ?
2nd you ever fished in any type of bass tournament
3rd you think you got what it takes
4th money it takes alot of it to get started
Fish every lure of every color in every lake/pond/river/canal/stream/reservoir etc that you can think of. Fish highly pressured areas and less pressured areas. Make a log book of what works where and try to figure out why…read Bass magazines and books as well to get a better understanding of why your lure is or is not working. Best of luck to you.
To get started:
#1. Join a B.A.S.S. or FLW affiliated local Bass club. (Join as a boater or NON-boater)
#2. WIN!
#3. After your 3rd-4th year of local Tourneys, and making it to your local Bass clubs “Classic”, (and WINNING), start to write letters/shop around for some local/regional “sponsors”. Even as a young man getting sponsors, (if your WINNING), can be easy! Fish Fishburn had “Team Grand-maw”! (lol)
If you start REALLY working on it, by the time your 18-19 you could be fishing the “trail”. By “really working on it” I mean:
A. Fish as much as you possibly can! And fish different “types” of water. You will need to learn how to discriminate/understand “structure”, good Crankin areas, current(and how it affects the fish), Etc.The best way to learn is through experience! Also, read EVERYTHING you can get your hands on about Bass fishing!
B. Be a “good sport”! Don’t be a jerk, (in “life & in tourneys)! When the “old guys” in your local club are talking fishing “SHUT UP & listen”! (lol) The “old guys” will always know MORE than you do because they’ve been around longer!
You could also try to start a local JR’s Bass Club. You would need an adult in each boat during the tourneys, (for insurance purposes), but it would be a fun way to gain experience!
Hope this helps ya? Check my “starred questions” on my profile for further info on fishing. Good luck!
Join local fishing clubs, or you could also fish on http://www.bountyfishing.com
You can win some cash, build your reputation and then get enough cash to be able to enter in a BASS pro tourney.
Did you know it costs 4000 dollars to fish a B.A.S.S elite series tourney.
Join a local BASS club and, start participating in their tournaments. like the guy above Me said, fish in all weather conditions and, in all kind of waters. start learning to interpret patterns. all of this information will be needed when, You are ready to move up to the next level. don’t be shy about asking more experienced guys in the club questions. a real fisherman will be more than happy to answer and, help You along.
join a bass fishing club, every town should have several.start fishing every bass tournament you can.when your not fishing tournaments go fishing, practice makes perfect.you have to get good enough that the right people notice you.money people that can sponsor you.you have to make it happen, and you can do it.fish with every bass fisherman you can they all have there own little secret.just watch them and pick up on there secrets.good luck,AND LONG LIVE THE BASS FISHERMAN.
