My club sponsors fishing tournaments open to the public on Sta. mornings and Sat. nights from spring to fall.

What type of webpage you want to build is far less important than knowing how to build one. You should ask this question in the section with questions on how to build web pages / websites… Good Luck

  • PETER_AZ:

First, decide what kind of web page you want — a static one, where you just post the event schedules and results and photos, and a phone number/e-mail address — or a dynamic one where people could sign up online and so on.

If it’s a static one, you can probably do it yourself; otherwise you’ll probably have to hire a professional.

Anyway, the basic steps (for a static page) are:

    1. Buy a web page design software package (probably Dreamweaver or Front Page) and get familiar with how it works.

    2. Create the web site on your local system, test it, check links, etc.

    3. Obtain a domain name and server space (generally you can go through a single hosting service for both.) (Don’t do this until you have something to upload, so you’re not paying for it for time you’re not using it.)

    4. Upload your website, test it out online, then tell the world about it.

    5. Update it regularly — there’s little worse than going to a website and finding a schedule for last year’s events. Don’t be afraid to change it when you get better photos or better logos.

Get you a domain name and their cheap. Then set up your page like you want it and let it rip wide up.
