I’d fish on the top of the water with a jitterbug. Color won’t matter, it’s the ripple effect that will attract.
I like those little rubber crawdads in a chartreuse or bluish color, either of them work for me. Catch a whopper!
In a cloudy lake I have had past success with Texas rigged plastic worms in the darker colors.
use a color that is like the water, dark colored lures in muddy or dark waters, and light colored lures in clear or slightly stained waters, good luck
I caught a largemouth on a chartreuse spinnerbait with silver blades.. fished REALLY slow. It was in really muddy water (looked like coffee with lots of creamer). Also got a few followers on a a flashy chrome and black lipless crankbait. Try those.. you’re definitely going to need something that makes lots of noise – in muddy water they’re going to be using their lateral lines (the lines that go down the sides of the bass – fishing sonar) to detect food, not their eyes. I’d go with brighter colors like chartreuse and firetiger. Here’s a really good article with an explanation: http://www.bassresource.com/beginner/Choosing_Colors_selection.html
Rapala Fat Rap in fire tiger works well for me
Bagley’s Balsa-B
I’d try some jigs in green pumpkin and a Berkley chigger craw in green pumpkin as a trailer and/or a medium to deep diving crankbait in white, shad, and crawdad colors. fish them in and around rock points, stumps, road beds (if any), and isolated trees and tree branches.
