Im not a great big bass fisherman Brandon, but I occasionally fish a buddys 20 acre lake for them. I catch allot on top water lures this time of year. Hula poppers and jitter bugs work so do the cheap poppers walmart sells. I usually fish the evenings before it gets dark and into the night. I occasional catch them in the day walleye fishing in a larger lake in my area. Throwing crank baits like cotton cordells big o the smaller one they sell. I get a 5 #er or better just about every year on a big o walleye fishing. No big bass this year but I caught allot of 2 to 3 lb ers.
I caught one 2 days ago suing a sunfish. Catch a sunfish using worms and put a big hook through its back. Then wait for a bite and a good fight
i just went bassin yesterday and used a spinnerbait. it was the best lure out of all of the lures i tried, i caught 4 largemouth bass in less than an hour. i got it at Wal Mart for $5.00, here is what it looks like:

make sure the shiners are shiney! if they are plastic they will not work well because it’s suppost to act like a minnow and when i minnow swims it shows its shiney side. just like this:

Go to a sporting goods store or a tackle shop. But different lures to test what works.
Plastic worms are going to be the best lures for bass ANYWHERE.
yeah, spinnerbaits work great. a few weeks ago i caught 3 largemouth bass on a spinner bait. one of em was one of the biggest ive ever caught. um, i caught 8 largemouth bass in like 2 hrs using a texas rigged worm. poppers work good. and worm and bobber work great also.
