    I don’t know about Mass. But here in Michigan we I use rapella frogs. Have caught many many bass with them.

    Depends on the time of year. Bass go into “rut” just like deer in the late summer to mid fall. Then anything shiny that they can swallow will do the job. In the other months you’d be better off using live bait such as shiners or grasshoppers or small frogs.

  • Thin Kaboudit:

    “beetle spins”, those horrible green plastic thingies, seem to be the all-around best Bass-bait ever, for some unapparent reason. I have wasted much time and effort trying all sorts of alternatives, but the Bass just seem to crave this nasty, cheap piece of plastic. Perhaps they are as dumb as I am!
