What large mouth bass lure should I use?
I am new to bass fishing and was wondering what the best lure for my situating was. I usually fish for bass in shallow water, 3 feet deep tops, and in murky water.

Hmmm… are there weeds? Is it rocky, sandy, or muddy bottom? What’s the local baitfish? How big is the body of water?
There’s quite a few choices you have. You can work a shallow crankbait through the water. You can use a jig. There’s spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, plugs, poppers. Earthworms are simple, but can be effective.
A good choice for all bass fishing are artificial worms (plastic worms). They come in many sizes to suit your specific needs. You can use a carolina rig, texas rig, the list goes on and one.
all right, for that shallow of water i would use a poper or a trick worm with a jig head. a great poper brand is excalibar but its kinda expensive running 8-10 bucks a lure. trick worms are good no matter what brand and just dont get a huge jig head. if these dont work try a chatter bait reeled in fast to stay off the bottom. if all above fails try a gary yomomoto sinko, i havent found a place that a sinko can’t catch a fish. if you got a little bit deeper i would try a rattle trap because bass go crazy for them in murky water but it is no use if you get snaged every cast. hoped this helped.
Since you are new to bass fishing, I would use a spinnerbait. In the murky water, use a darker color and in more clear water, use white or chartreuse. Once you get comfortable with artificial bait, try a plastic worm. It will take a lot more practice and patience, but the rewards are worth it. You can use buzzbaits, also, but not usually so well in murky water. The topwater baits (spooks, poppers, rats, etc.) are excellent also, but will take practice with working them.
Mann’s Baby 1-Minus crankbait.
6″ Senko in white wacky-rigged.
my favorite lure is the original floating rapala in the f07 size it has caught me many fish. Or spinnerbaits work good.
no matter what the situation a spinner will not fail you. go out and buy 5 to 10 spinner that span from dark to light, this included orange, red, blue, the whole works. it will cost you about 20 dollars for all of them. then you match the color of the spinner to the color and compostistion of the water. spinners work in all kinds of situations, shallow, deep, weedy, docks, rocky bottom, mud bottom, everything! and they are highly cost effective. good luck!
Man, theres too many. I even have a hugeee tackle box of crap.
Let’s see. My water is murky, and i caught huge bass with a “Strike King Blood Spit’ N’ King’” It’s great. I would also try some Strike King white spinner baits. Also, Frog spinner baits.
If so, not a lure. Use worms or live minnows. If you don’t want to pay a lot of minnows, buy a live bait cast net, like i did and learn how to throw it on youtube. I usually sell my extra minnows for 10cents when im heading out. Sometimes free.
Good luck.
You may find bass fishing little catchy in areas where rock ledges are , the reason being that bass will tend to take cover under these deep seated rock ledges.Bass are very intelligent and they smell the hunters and anglers from a distance. Hence you should make it a point to avoid clutter while going for fishing…
