Are largemouth bass high in Mercury?

Also, if you know, bluegill, crappie, and catfish.
Thanks, I’ve been going fishing and wanted to eat some of my catch but I’ve been hearing a lot about too much Mercury in Fish and how it can cause cancer.

I read that all large fish are because they have to suck in more water to breathe or something. That’s why pregnant women can’t eat them.

No, but they are cheap in Jupiter.

Sorry, it’s early here. Mercury levels have dropped significantly over the years due to clean water acts and so on. If you’re fishing in a lake, more than likely that lake is a source of drinking water for the community also. That means the water is tested regularly by health inspectors. Saltwater fishing can be different because of migratory patterns. Freshwater fish shouldn’t cause any problems and as long as you don’t eat saltwater fish for every meal all week long, you won’t have problems with that either. So eat up, fish is good for you, and tastes so much better when you’ve caught it, cleaned it and cooked it up fresh!

Not unless you live in South Florida! If so mercury would be only one poison I would be worried about!
