is it actually possible to put a largemouth bass into a fish tank?
i am a bass fisherman. i was excited when i saw a bass in a tank on youtube but yea you guys are right i wouldn’t have it for long

Its possible, and from what I’ve read, they are great aquarium inhabitants when they are small and exhibit many interesting behaviors, but eventually, you have to deal with the same issues that a pacu keeper would, ie. how am I going to get a tank large enough to house this 3 foot fish.
Edit: While keeping the largemouth long term is out of the question, there are other North American Centrarchids such as sunfish and perch which don’t get as large, and are more easily kept in the aquarium.
NO. Have you ever seen how big some of those guys get? You could build a pond
Possible, yes. Practical, no. Largemouth bass need a helluva lot of swimming room. And they also get larger than most common aquarium fish. So Im not going to give you a tank size needed, but you should probably look into the hundreds is my guess.
lmao. Thumbs down.
yes but dont keep with other fish, and it depends on the tank size
You will need an aquarium larger than my front room and dinning room put together.
You want to by a house? LOL
I have an acquaintance that keeps a tank of local fishes in his taxidermy shop. It’s about 130 gallons. He keeps fish from the nearby creek, and changes them out every few months. They seem to stay healthy.
One last item,in our state he could be ticketed and fined for keeping game fish in captivity, apparently it’s OK to kill them, just don’t try to make pets of them.
yes , my friend keeped one in his tank till it was about 12 inches then let it go in the lake were it came from , he had a tank that was about 4 feet long by 3feet wide, and fed it gold fish. but here in calf. it is illegal to keep a bass under size, and you need a fishing license to catch one.
its absolutely possible……just not a good idea…..unless you have a lot of experience….and a 500g+ tank……..if u do….then go for it….it would be sweet…….LM bass are awesome aquarium fish….very entertaining…especially durring live feedings
