Unconventional bait or Unorthodox way of catching Bass?

Largemouth or Small doesn’t matter. Something that works so well, you use it everytime out.

Went fishing for stripe bass last weekend in the ocean. Me and my buddies ALWAYS use live eels as bait. It is bass candy you get them everytime! Just be careful taking bluefish off the hook if you get any… those suckers are nasty!

  • HTacianas:

During the spawning season find a bass bed with a bass on it. Put a large shiner on a hook with a heavy weight and drop it in the middle of the bed. Bass don’t feed while they’re spawning but they will eat the shiner just to get it away from their bed. Sometimes they’ll even grab it in their mouth, carry it out of the bed, and then spit it out.

    Works every time.

A tree frog or a small bull frog works great. The strikes are awesome on top of the water. Bass cant resist them

I always have a 1/4-1/2 OZ Rattle Trap type lure tied on. When your trolling a weedline and need to find active fish a Rattle Trap type Crank is a great “scouting” lure. Another good “scouting” lure is a Spinner-bait……

I ALWAYS have a Jig of some sort tied on. Weedless Jigs with a good trailer are almost always a good bet for nice sized Bass.

Unconventional? Unorthodox way of catching Bass that works so well that none of the pro’s have thought of it yet?

    Good luck with that Q…..(lol).

Unconventional and unorthodox is my middle name! LOL.
I’ve used Gummy worms with success, earrings to make a spinner bait and it worked. Tree branches, pepsi bottles and styrofoam cups to make floats and shoe strings to catch a bass. All worked but would I use it every time out? No. I use these things in a pinch or just to make a point that you can use just about anything to catch a fish.~good luck catchin’.
