What are good lures to catch largemouth bass all year-round?

  • JayBug:

I don’t know about all year, but you have to try wacky worming if you haven’t. I was totally shocked at how well it works and it opened my eyes to a whole range of possibilities. Brown or green like watermelon is good, but it doesn’t matter that much. I get whatever is on sale; red, yellow, black; whatever.

  • GoldenFeather:

Jig and some short of trailer works all year round.
Except for winter fishing I use a 1/2 oz , summer time I am liable to go as big as 1 oz.
Winter Small Mouth fishing I go with a Eakins style 7/16 oz or a 1/4 oz jig. But a Jig can be fished all year round, just have to adjust the weight and trailer to fit the situation.

Jigs are always good producers. Fish ‘em slower in the winter. You really can’t beat fishing a plastic worm wacky style in the summer. They would outfish a jig in most situations. Truth be told; I don’t think that there would be one do-it-all for all year round.

jigs w/trailer or spinner bait FACT!!!!!!!!

  • Dreaming Badger:

Jitterbug(, a good spinner bait, or a Dardevle(R) lure.

I, use a 6″ ZOOM lizzard in watermelon seed color.i usually fish 100-150 days per year.
last year, put over 1,200 bass to the boat. of those, 9 was over 6# & 1 was 8#14oz. on my best day, caught 121 bass.

i only keep what i want to eat. the rest, are live release

Try a Blue/Black Laminate Senko 4in riged weightless Texas stile or a 4 or 6 in Green Pumpkin Yum Lizard, rig the same way but weight the hook with Storm Suspend dots. I use a 1/0 extra wde gape hook for the lizards and a 2/0 for the Senkos fish very very slow.

    Good luck
