what are some lures to use for small mouth bass and large mouth bass?

Currently I use senkos and sluggo’s. Senkos really work for small mouth bass and largemouth bass and sluggos are extremely good for large mouth more in the spring. There are more baits I use also. What I am looking for are some other baits (artificial) That you would recommend. Thanks.

  • i like icecream:

Anything that has a tail that can swivel around. Also I have some good lures that look like chad, those are really good. It’s hard to tell you over the internet but look for anything with a swively(Is that a word?) tail.

This works for me very well in most all situations and enviroments….I even tried it is salt water off the coast od San Diego…. I have never failed to catch at least one, even on the worst of days.

smallmouth- Jigs, gobi tooking baits, Gulp Alive, finnesse Baits

LM- Crankbaits, topwater frogs, topwater, Jigs

  • Eric:

In this weather, I would recommend using anything slow:

jigs-they produce large fish allot of the time
    creature baits-zoom, yamamoto etc
roboworms-i like them on a shaky head

    during warmer times:

    spinner baits
    crank baits
SWIM BAITS (anything that will hit something that big has to be a decent size) you can use these in winter too, just bottom bounce them….let it sink bounce it slow retrieve

when its cold you will have to fish slow….warmer times you can use reaction baits (cranks, lipless cranks, spinners etc.)

    Good luck

    Rebel teeny wee crawfish…….deadly anytime

  • Charles Slone:

Mister Twister 4 inch curly-tailed grubs. Plastic Worms. Booyah Spinnerbait.

  • pheasant tail:

Depending on the time of year………..

Smallies and largemouth will both hit just about the same things, some lures that are a must have:

    1) original rapala in either black/silver or black/gold – depending upon the baitfish in your area
    2) Bucktail and marabou jigs (cheap and deadly – yellow being a favorite of mine)
    3) warmer water: spinnerbaits
    4) a motor-oil colored 4″ grub w/ a curly tail bounced over structure
    5) classic top water lures such as a jitter bug, hula popper or a zara spook ( in warmer weather)

  • Jobe3:

green worms with sparkles in it on a split shot weight
