What color Senko’s do you use for the different times of day for Largemouth Bass.?
Every since I went fishing with my cousing last year he got me hooked on Gary Yamamoto Senko’s. I previously only used live bait. These things work great. I would only use the Green Pumpkin with black Flake and then I started using the Watermelon with no flake and they both work great. As it is getting darker though I don’t see how the fish would be able to see these colors. I tried the bubblegum and got a few hits with it. Just wondering what other people who use these baits do. Thanks for any info.
I use Yum’s as well. I like the Bumble Bee Squirell it looks like a small yellow perch. I like the Senko’s because of their weight and agility. And they just happen to work as well.

senkos are godly expensive i use YUM dingers they are the same thing and have a slower drop rate but try a chartuse pepper(bright clear green with black flakes)
I would focus more on water clarity and temperature rather than time of day.
Water clarity is very important for your color selection. Maybe you should pay attention to the sun and sky also. I don’t worry about temperature at all. The senko is an amazing bait. I use them year round because I fish some highly pressured lakes. In stained water, I use light colors like white/chartreuse. In clear water, I use your darker colors like green pumpkin, watermelon. Use your darkest colors at night or dusk. In stained water, sometimes I’ll use a darker color if the light colors aren’t producing. I use forage colors like baby bass or shad that’s appropriate to that lake or pond. Something else that I’ve started doing recently, when I make a color change, I make it drastic. If white ain’t what they want, I go straight to black. A month ago, all they wanted was the bubblegum. The water was dirty, but you just never can tell. Most of the time, the colors you are fishing work. It’s just a matter of figuring out which ones they like the best at that moment.
I started out with the senko’s but due to their rather high cost, I tried some cheap look alikes. Much to my surprise, they worked as good if not better then the senkos.
The colors that were the most effective in late evenening fishing were the gold honey colored ones – also on a clear bright day it worked well. My most effective colors during the day was a green one with black stripes around it, another one was green with a chartreuse tail. another was called black smoke. These knockoff lures were found at Academey and were discontinued by them. They had them on sale for 20 cents apiece and later dropped them to one cent apiece to clear them out .I bought over 500 of them, but unfortunately the colors that were the most productive were in short supply.
You will find that the senko type lures right now are the hottest bass baits that you can put in the water- the only question is how long will they be effective? Good luck and good fishing.
As mentioned worry about water clarity instead of time of day. I throw a smoke red pepper Yum Dinger all day and always catch fish.
