Large Minnows from Spring to Mid August even if you think the minnow is to large the big ones love the big minnows, fish them with a float (bobber) about a foot and a half deep around the banks if no strike in a minute, move on.

Hula Popper (Wal-mart) from Mid August through September.

    My favorites anyways….

  • xuserx2000:

Zoom trick worms always work for me.
LMB… big or small love them.

If you don’t like plastic baits…..

    go with a topwater spook.

Best all around would have to be a plastic worm. Purple is the most used.
My fav is definitely a jig and pork trailer only because it is so versatile in the ways it can be used while fishing. Plus it has been very productive on the BASS tour and I caught bunches with it.

  • mr.cool:

i use bread to atract them. and any frog baits work great. my first largmouth was 8lbs on small frog bait.

  • Brandon:

Well if I had to pick one lure it would be a plastic worm . I would say it has caught more bass than any other lure.It works good most all times of the year and under most conditions.

Spinnerbait is because I caught the largest bass of of my life with it.

If you love bass fishing and reading great articles about it then may I suggest you look at this website:

I only use worms and liver to catch anything.
I have caught a 5 lb. large mouth bass with just worms.
    I’m just that good! haha

The all time best lure for Bass would be the Rattling Trap for day time and Knocking Zara spook for night time.

Plastic worms will fail when others don’t.

Bass fishing has ben an experience for me to learn as I go and after 20 years of it if I want a trophy I now how to get one easy and that is at night early in the morning around 3:00 am to 5:30 am. After that it’s sunrise and a waste of time and I’ll tell you why.

75% of the lunker Bass feed early, early in the moring especially after they reach 14 lbs on up. The reason is very simple.
Bass is a predator and what better time to prey on fish than at night.

At night lunkers use less energy and capture more food abundantly to the point they will den out in the day and hunt at night.
This is why Anglers run into a hrad time catching lunkers in the day time and not as much as at night.

I have two 14 lb Bass caught early in the morning mounted and what got away from me is unbelievable. to this day.

Hard to catch no…easy too lose yes!

  • BASS Fisherman:

I’d have to say either the tube or a jig and pig.

My reason…….. More fish are caught on those two lures than any others in the bass club I belong to. And they catch big fish as well, which is why most of our tourneys are won with that combo. They work everywhere and anytime!
You can’t go wrong with brown and green!

  • rapture:

I have so many favorites for so many different situations.

Power worms will work in just about any condition you can think of.

as far as most fun, for me, top water is where its at….
twitching a thunderstick on top gets em, the ol zara spook, and of course one of my absolute fav lures…the buzzbait! (I use either a strike king triple bladed buzzer or terminators)
