Use scented plastic worms. Make sure you use a real slow retreive. In the evening, try some top waters like Holla Poppers or Jitter Bugs.

  • HTacianas:

Bouncing a rubber worm on the bottom is good, but it’s better to try to fish under things like fallen trees where there’s shade. Bass will even hide behind a small branch. A pig and jig fished next to logs works also.

Well, I don’t know if it works for everyone else, but I usually get either Golden shiner minnows or Crappie minnows

  • fisherman:

    a cut up brem head

Well you have to remember a few things when fishing in the heat for bass. Largemouth, like most fish, will shut down during the heat of the day. However this does not meant hat you cannot catch them.

Just like us, fish SLOW DOWN during hot weather. This means you have to fish finesse types slow moving baits to catch them. They will also seek the cooler water, which is most ALWAYS deep water.

I would suggest a finesse jig or a drop shot rig with a finesse worm and work deep drop offs slow, or from the back cast out to the middle and slowly work the baits across the bottom.

hey man, all these answers are good ones but there are a couple of things they lefft out. yes finese fishing is a good thing to use, worms-texas riged or carolina riged is just fine all depending on your style of fishing. another thing that was mentioned is a hulla popper. those are great lures but you can also try a streight cank minnow. while it is floating on top jerk rod toward the 5 oclock or 7 oclock position making the lure make racket on the top of the water. a good sized spinner bait will work too. i like the spinners with duel willow blades. add a pork trailer for sent. a crawfish jig with a skirt is a great great lure to use. finese fish it on bottom. slow it down abit and bouse the jig at the bottom alittle more than you normaly would. the crawfish are a big part of a bass’s diet and the crawfish hang around the bottom so keeping the jig at the bottom will be more life like. i hope this helps you alittle. good luck and good fishin

use a ragetail my friends have caught 11-16 lb bass on that lure its tail smacks the water so hard the bass just come up and you got yourself a bite. Good Luck!

green/brown jigs in deep brush piles work it slow and make multiple cast into the brush pile

  • i fish alot in the summer and i use ZOOM u-tale worms that and usaully junebug, motor oil charteuse, or black color worms.

i go about 2:00 in the after noon til about 7:00 everyday and sometimes they are hitting and sometimes there not

  • Kegan:

I use a Mag2 junebug plastic worm from zoom bait. i fish it on a 4/0 wide gap hook. texas rigged. and work it slow around debris such as fallen trees and braches under the water. dont forget a bullet wieght before you tie on the hook.its important. hope this helped you can find all this tackle at any local Wal-Mart.
