I just caught my limit (5) this morning, and they all took a fake worm lure as I trolled it along some rocks next to a dam. And tomorrow, they probably won’t touch it; they will go after something else. Last week, it was a Crawdad lure that got some.

Just a thought, but try your depth. That changes constantly too. I find the bigger fish in a little deeper water… sometimes.

    Good luck.

When in doubt, throw anything stinky on a hook and set it on the bottom of a deep part of the lake. A catfish will take that. At least it’s something.

The Banjo Minnow! I wouldn’t have believed myself, but when a friend and I were fishing one day last year, I couldn’t catch squat… (all kinds of lure and even live bait) He was slaying them one after another. I asked him whatcha’ using… A banjo minnow… I said you’ve got be Shi**ing me! He threw me one and I hooked up and in the 1st cast to the same hole I was just at and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!! 8 lb largey!
    I’ve been sold ever since.

Seems you can never go wrong with the old standby of a texas rigged plastic worm 6-7″

There are alot of sucessful methods.

    1. the Jig is one of the most versatile lures and on average produce some of the largest catches.

    2. Drop shotting a soft plastic….becomming one of the most common finesse presentations, particularly useful when fishing clear or deep water.

    3. Spinnerbaits are useful for covering large areas quickly

    4. crankbaits and lipless crankbaits still work great, smaller catches though.

    5. texas rigged or wacky rigged soft plastics

I have caught the most large mouth bass with a good ole plastic worm, nothing fancy and usually a black one or pumpkin seed color, alco a small beetle spin is good here in florida ! good luck

i have been fishing for years and it seems the only thing i have been able to catch bass with is large gobbl of live worm and larger fathead live minnows they almost alwase do the trick i use this with a lighter lime with a ugly stick light action and have never had any troubles with it the smaller rod the better because you can see the bight easier

The first lure on my pole every time I fish is the Roster Tail. I have had more luck with it in my thirty years of fishing than anything else.

Libraries of books have been written on this subject, and they all lead to one conclusion: There is no ONE BEST BASS LURE!! Everything depends on conditions, locations, fishing situations, and a multitude of other factors.
