What is the best fishing lure/technique to catch largemouth bass in late summer?
I’m fishing in Michigan (Fletcher’s floodwaters) during the last weekend in August. I’m looking for insight so I can land a few giant bass.

Well in late summer to early fall i would throw a spinner bait and topwater lure(popper, buzzbait, ect.) in the early morning and at dusk and a jig and some crankbaits during the middle of the day
Good luck
User a bass stopper rubber worm purple with a yellow stripe. get the magnum size one and use a slow retrieve with intermittent jerks.
Get a crappie spreader, with a plastic frog, 2 ounce split shot, and 2.5 inch LAKER bobber. Also, get a Mepps Bass Killer Spinner, and put that on one end with a minnow and worm attatched to the hook. If you have any attatchments left, put a buzzbait with a worm on. You’re guaranteed to catch something.
the hydra is really good bait for any time of year
I like the buzz bait .Or a plastic worm .
During summer, bass hold in woody snags at the edge of islands and side channels of larger rivers, where they feed on shad that swim by in the current. To lure them out, cast a jig upstream and toward the bank, then work it back through the logs and trees with a swimming retrieve. Experiment with a steady retrieve much like a spinnerbait or a hopping action that sometimes triggers extra bites.
