  • KN:

    Red Frogs.

  • Evan:

I would say top water spinners, they have the best noise and visual in my opinion

  • Adam S:

Just like with all lures, there is no “best”. It all depends on situation.

  • dumdum:

The best in my area of Louisiana are the Chug-Bugs and the Pop-R’s
Color doesn’t really seem to matter that much.

  • Backwater Charlie:

I like Zara Spook Puppy’s in baby bass.

    Happy fishing.

  • BeachBum818:

I like to use the Heddon Torpedo. I fish Candlewood Lake, Ct and the bass love it.

When you’re using a popper, it really doesn’t matter what color you’re using… the fish can’t see the top of it.

Most of the fish I’ve gotten on a surface lure have been on a shad colored Heddon Original Zara Spook and a black/chrome Rebel Pop-R.

  • The Wormist:

if your main forage is shad, get one to match those.
use a frog color or a color to resemble a mouse.
like fly fishing, you gotta match the hatch.
once weed beds start forming, you can’t beat a soft plastic frog. strike kings “rage tail” is one of the best for hot, fast action. rig it EXACTLY as shown on the package.

  • Bryan:

I like using an inline buzz bait

  • Bob:

Zara Spooks have been around for a very long time, for a reason. Poppers my favorite though and topwater frogs are becoming very popular because they have been doing well in tournaments. It really just depends on what the fish like at the moment.

  • bowflex:

try the fishin snake go to fishinsnake.com and it show you what all thay cault on it and they are monsters

  • Oklahoma_fisherman:

A popper, stick bait, and frogs. Brighter days use darker color lures and darker or night use bright. hope i helped.
