what kind of bait should i use?

so my college is on a lake and some friends and i would like to try fishing since its nice out again. none of us really fish; but i do know that there are walleye, northern pike, and largemouth bass in the lake. i was just wondering what bait i should use if i was bobberfishing that would catch these fish? thanks

  • A Not-so-Old Fisherman:

For your situation I would start out with a good ole’ nightcrawler. You could also try minnows which might get you some fish too. Good luck fishin’!

    P.S.
What college do you go to? I ask this because there is a college near where I live that has all those type of fish you named. Just wondering. Again good luck!

  • plantsparky:

    Live minnows or shiners.

  • Grand Master Basser:

    Live minnows, shiners, or shad.

    Try flylinging the live minners.

  • Gus:

I can help you some with the northern pike baits. From my experience, any large lure that is moved at a good speed will attract pike to your bait. However, you mention you would like to bobber fish. For that, I would get very large minnows and see if that would work. I bet you could cast lures and catch as many fish though.

    Good luck.
