It had to be certified by the state authorities at the time- (1933?) I guess it was as accurate as any scale in the state of Georgia (which is where the bass was caught). It wasn’t as accurate as today, but there’s no reason I can think of that it would not be accurate to the ounce. It’s not like it was the dark ages-
It was measured and weighed at the local general store on a certified scale and then verified by Field & Stream magazine. Even in 1932 there were certification requirements for the calibration of retail measuring devices, so I would imagine it would have been very accurate.
State certified, so it would have been quite accurate.
It was a spring scale .I think accurate .
One that has ounces and pounds is calibrated and certified accurate.
