Rubber worms or spinner baits for bass, I don’t know for walleye.
It depends on the location. For Bass, I like using Senkos, spinner baits, and depending on the situation top water like a jitterbug or popper. For Walleye, I like to troll Shad Raps (perch color – perch are a walleye’s favorite food) and jig leaches or twisty tail grubs.
a deep diving crankbait should catch both bass and walleye if you are using live bait 4″ minnows should work well
I have caught both using a shad rap while trolling for walleyes.
There is no “best” bait for any kind of fish throughout the year in any given location. The best bait today may not be the best bait tomorrow. Theres too many factors like temperature, cold fronts/warm fronts, lakes rising and dropping and so on.
Generally good all around baits for bass are plastic texas rigged worms, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, rooster tails, and jigs when the bite is a little slow. When all else fails live bait like shinners are almost a sure bet.
for the Walleye your best bet is larger shinners and shad although they can be caught pretty decent on baitfish style jerkbaits. swimbaits, and spinnerbaits. Storm makes some great looking swimbaits that imitate sunfish, crappie, minnows, or walley.
If your going for Bass depending on your location there is many good baits. If it is around weeds or cover try throwing a spinnerbait or a lipless crankbait. If your fishing around rocks or just clay banks or any other kind of structure try throwing a shaky head worm. All u need for this rig is just a jig with a flat side so it will stand straight up and some zoom trick worms.Good Luck!
