Yeah you can catch those fish on the same rod, but to MAXIMIZE the effenciency of your presentation, sometimes you need a different weight/length/action rod. Try working a 1/4th ounce ripbait on an 8’6 Superheavy action swimbait rod…It wont be very pretty.
That’s a load of shit, I can use my same rod, to catch crappie, smallies, and even musky.
on my 13 bday (3 days ago) i caught my first cat fish on a spinner and it was about 20 pounds mid day to although it pulled me off the dock lol 0.o

There is no best pole combo for smallmouth, theres different pole actions/lengths and weights for different applications and you need to match up the reel with the kind of lures you are using.
