Fishing with Rod: Tubebaiting for smallmouth bass
When tubebaiting for smallmouth bass at 40′ deep water, it is hard to determine the size of the fish until it reaches the surface. This makes every catch exciting and surprising at times. 6lb test for this particular fishery.
hey fishingwithrod how heavy is ur line
how did you have these riged
nice fish dude
good for u…
u can buy in line spinners, but bass/panfish is kinda hard too do that. panfish and bass like different things, you can catch panfish on an ultrlight combo casting out a tiny jig grub, bouncing it on to ground, and for bss there r multiple things you can buy. assuming your a beginner, try yamamoto senkos(wacky or texas rigged)
nice catches
Nice Smallmouth…Reminds me of Northern Minnesota.
If I only had $15-30 to spend, what lures or soft baits would you guys suggest for purchase? I’m going for mostly bass and panfish. Anything that can catch multiple species actually. Any help?
tubes are the best bait by far for me when i smallmouth and large mouth fishing in the north . use in 50-70 degree water and rig it weightless and use it like a jerkbaith over weeds
Tubes are far and away my favorite lure on smallies. I’ve also had nice success on 5″ watermelon flake senkos. I live in PA and have caught some nice smallies on these on the Susquehanna River. Nice fish!
Hi. My name is Justyn Ferguson and my dad is professional bass fisherman Art Ferguson. Tubes are probably our number one bait we use on lake erie, but when the conditions are right, you can catch bass on a spinnerbait or a jerkbait. If you have a GPS, what you want to look for is offshore humps (ex. your in 14 feet and it comes up to 12 than goes back to 14) and usually you can catch em on a tube. If its cloudy or windy, try ripping a spinnerbait in a little shallower water to trigger a strike.
i know i didn’t spell phlueger correctly but i never could spell and i know how to fish them … i have 2. i have fished a spincast rod all my life
hey can u help me. wat is good 4 fishing on lake erie. wat other lures do u use to catch bass and other fish?
biggerbass11, you need to get some info before you start talkin shit. It’s a pflueger PRESIDENT not a presidential (ya dumb shit) and also learn how to spell pflueger. Also what reel brand you buy doesn’t have a bearing on how you fish a bait. I bet you fish a spincast rod dont you biggerbass11.
dude tighten your drag and if that is a phluger presidential you are not fishing the tube right sorry but yeah.
it says tubebaiting =/ so that means its a soft plastic tube lure =]
what kind of bait are you using?
why are u holing it so high when u pull it in ?
Bloating has never been a problem when we bass fish at this lake. When we fish the saltwater for rockfish species, expansion of the air bladder does become a problem at times. In that case, we bring the fish up very slowly to avoid it.
Yeah thats a given. Good video. Did you have any problems with degassing the fish, because usually when your pulling fish from that deep they tend to bloat. I saw that you released pretty quickly so I guess it wasnt a major hindrance.
