Bass, bluegill and perch are wild fish species and can grow to be quite large. They eat a variety of food, from insects to small crustaceans and fish. Even if you begin keeping these species when they are small, they will quickly outgrow your tank. It is not ethical or practical to try to keep these kinds of fish in any sort of aquarium or small pond.

If you wanted t grow one each of the fish that you mentioned to full size then I would recommend at least a 200 gallon tank with 20 to 30% weekly water changes since they are messy fishes. The bass can grow up to 2 foot long, the blue gill can top over 12 inches as well as the yellow perch. I tell people to take the full grown length of the fish (not including the caudal fin, tail fin) and multiply that times the height of the fish (again not including the dorsal or anal fins) to get the number of gallons that the fish should have. If you try to grow a fish in too small a container or d not give the proper water changes the fish will still grow in the inside but not the outside, this will stress the fish and lower it’s resistance to diseases. That is why many fish do not live very long in captivity (along with a few other things that people do not understand)
