I have some Crayfish Questions?

I live in Upstate Rome Ny (USA) and i have some questions about crayfish. 1.Around winter time like right now are crayfish in small streams.2. Has enyone ever owned one that they caught cuz i want to catch some and keep them alive because i want to feed them to my pet smallmouth bass.3 and what do they eat and what size enclosure ect.

crayfish are scavengers and will eat most anything, i would suggest algae wafers and some sinking meat pellets of some sort. as far as enclosure, youre going to want at least a 20 gallon(long variety), if youre just planning to feed them to your fish you can probably fit 2 crays per 1 foot of tank bottom. make sure its either covered or that no cords are coming out the top because they will climb out.
