Try some beatle spins or other small spinner baits.
Joe flies , worms, salmon eggs( It worked), and any other spiner baits you have
My son and I use top water lures such as: Heddon brand Torpedo, Hula Poppers and something called a Woodchopper. These,as I said, are all top water lures which seem to bring the big ones up.They have propellers on them which make splashes when cranked in. We like to use green and yellow or orange colors. We’ll use these lures whether we’re in the stream or the pond. They always work! Hope this helped! Happy fishing from Maine!
try a live crawfish fished on the bottom
Smallmouth and Panfish will both take in-line spinners, flies, spinnerbaits, curly tailed grubs and hair jigs. So, i recommend getting some of each.
For in-line spinners, the Worden’s Rooster Tail in 1/8 oz. size is the best for those.
Any cheap fly will generally work.
For spinnerbaits, get mini-ones, such as the Strike King mini-King. Or some beetle spins.
For curly tailed grubs, mister twisters in the 2″ size are great.
For hair jigs, well any place sells cheap ones. And they all work.
But, if you need anymore tips, tricks, techniques, q’s, etc. just send me an e-mail with you’re problems, or q’s and I’ll answer the best i can.
Hope i helped ya out.
I’d definitly try out some small chartreuse spinner baits, Booyah or Strike King. Jigs are always very versatile. Many use hair jigs for smallies. I also have a lot of success fishing for smallies in the creeks with shallow running Shad-raps in natural colors. Rapala Shad-raps or any other small shallow running crank with a tight wobble.
spinnerbaits, tubes, or grubs
