Went to Kauai, HI early December. Got a hold of Darrell (22rfaka) to show me the spots on smallmouth bass fishing. I got a warm reception from his family. The whole day was a real treat. Yo ma man… that was a great vid!!! i’ve never caught a smallmouth myself yet but hear they fight like crazy. if you ever get out to the east coast of the US, i’ll have to take you to some primo trout fishing streams where you can put that fly rod to good use!!!!
What a unique place to catch your first smallie on a fly. Used to catch lots of smallies in the Willamette behind Heron Island near the mouth of the Clackamas. The John Day, as you probably know, has a strong smallmouth fishery too. Missing Oregon…
