why are tube baits such great bass baits?


i just started using tube baits 2 days ago and now they are my favorite baits! why do largmouth and smallmouth bass like them so much? They dont look like anything living around them!

    Tube worms work so well because they mimic different types of food, depending on how you fish them, and what colors you use. Remember that a fish doesn’t see things the way you and I do. A fish sees *something* moving in the water that may or may not vaguely resemble something they feed on.

    A dark colored tube worm bounced off the bottom resembles a crawfish, which is a standard forage food for both largemouth and smallmouth. Retrieving the same tube worm slightly off the bottom makes it look like a baitfish.

    A bright colored tube worm fished like a jig looks like any run-of-the-mill baitfish. And I agree with you that they work great. They’re one of my favorites also.
