TEAM EVINRUDE ICON WINS BASSMASTER CLASSIC ELITE SERIES

Little Rock, Arkansas, June 15, 2011 – BRP’s own legendary Team Evinrude member, Denny Brauer, has captured the first place win at the recent Bassmaster Classic Elite Series tour event on the Arkansas River this weekend.  The Diamond Drive title is the 17th Bassmaster tournament victory for Brauer.

Brauer led the tournament each day and finished with 52 pounds, 2 ounces.  The win earned him $100,000 and a berth in the 2012 Bassmaster Classic event.  Despite having to wait for a barge at the locks which delayed his return trip back to the weigh-in, Brauer managed to still beat out his closest opponents.

“I was happy to have my Evinrude on the back to get me into the weigh-in quickly,” declared Brauer.  “I knew I could rely on my equipment, which is very important to succeed in any tournament situation.”
Brauer, an Evinrude pro angler for 31 years, has many career accomplishments including two major titles – Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year (1997) and the Bassmaster Classic (1998).

“Denny has been the cornerstone of Team Evinrude and the many titles and accomplishments the team shares,” stated Christopher Berg, Director of Marketing and Strategic Planning for Evinrude.  “We are extremely proud and privileged to have him represent our brand and look forward to his performance at the upcoming Classic.”

Look for Brauer to be competing in the 2012 Bassmaster Classic in Shreveport, Louisiana.
