I have a 2 acre new pond. Everyone is saying stock it with large mouth bass and bluegill (or perch).?

Can I substitute another fish for the large mouth bass? Can I mix the bluegill and perch? We want a fishing pond for the kids. We are located in South Dakota. Any tips would be great. Thanks!
The only reason I don’t want the large month bass in my pond would be taste. Or at least I’m just looking for another option. They are great fun to catch.
