I live about an hour north of Ocala. I don’t know exactly where Marion Oaks is but there are several lakes around Ocala. Lake George and all of the runs and creeks off of it and the St Johns River are full of bass. They are all located in Ocala National Forest just east of Ocala. Rodman Dam, Resivoir, and the Ockliwaha (sp) River are located just Northeast of Ocala. Orange lake is about 30 mins up US441 near Micannopi (sp), it is a ledgendary bass lake.

Been in that area some years back. ST. Johns river was great for red ear and bass.
