I would love to join you.
We have Trout and Salmon rivers here that are amongst the best in the world.
The ideal catch would be a ‘Sea Run Trout’ one of the best fish I have ever eaten.
I fish mostly these days for halibut in the back bays and estuaries all up and down the coast here in southern California. The totally best part is, that I use fresh water bass tactics ( swim baits, worms, grubs and crankbaits) and have unbelievable days where eighty bay bass in four hours is not uncommon. The spotted bay bass is one of the most ferocious fighting fish pound for pound in the world on 4 and six pound test it’s compared to fighting godzilla with a shoe string. The bass and halibut are seemingly co existent in the same waters under dock, piers, moored boats, weed lines and drop offs. The thrill is always the numbers of fish you can catch, the benefit is a great free dinner and left overs on fresh never frozen halibut. I average about 22- 24 legal halibut a year almost one every other week. The bass you can’t keep and eat they are all loaded with heavy metals and toxic run off, but the halibut get lost chasing bait into the bays and lay down a few days in the shade where they seem to like the current and the food supply. Cheers!
I usually go fishing’ for them brook trouts, in Canada I do!
Not that I get too many chances lately, but reds, seatrout, mangrove snapper, flounder, occasional snook, and other yummy main courses for dinner out of the Indian River Lagoon in Florida as well.
In my lake(Lake Sinclair, GA) I catch mostly crappie, catfish and hybrid bass(just for fun).
We have bass and bream, but I usually do not fish for them. My preference is to go to coast and fish salt or brackish water. The occasional shark makes me very excited.
I can’t afford toooo, except for the w’ends..
We have Bass, crappie and catfish, mainly..
It is very soothing to sit, in the peace ans quiet..
I have a few spots here in Asheville. My first spot is a mile from my house at Owen Park. It is a micro reservoir and has 2 lakes with water flowing from the upper to lower at all times. I catch a lot of bass and bluegill here. If the bite is off I can go to the river beside it that is separated by a walkway. This is where I catch some browns, rainbow, and some mean little smallmouth. Lake Jullian is a small electric only lake where I like to go for bass, crappie and talapia. It is a thermal lake and they have boats rental. This is probably one of the cleanest lakes I have ever fished. To the east of me is Lake James and the smallmouth bite is crazy there at the moment. These are my favorite local places to get my fish on!
Lately I’ve been doing a lot more freshwater fishing here in San Diego, but like Florida, there are just so many other types of fish to catch out here. We’ve got lakes, bays and ofcourse the Pacific Ocean. Yeah, I often make time to be out fishing at least once a week.

Trout, Small and Largemouth Bass, sunfish, crappie, stripers, catfish and White Bass in the Hiawassee, Ocoee Rivers, and in Lake Ocoee.
I fly fish mostly, but I also use lures and bait from time to time. Life doesn’t get much better than this.
Nobody, if I’m going fishing, I’m going fishing.
LoL.
The Dentist made me late today on my fishing trip, lol.
I fish in my neighbors farm pond in Southern Illinois. It was virtually untouched for about 10 years and has a thriving ecosystem now with exceptionally large fish. I catch 3-4 pound largemouth bass, foot long crappies, foot long blugills and sunfish (not the ocean kind, just clarifying since you live in florida, little panfish) and some newly introuduced catfish that are pretty small at about 8″ long. There used to be grass carp but they all died out- before i got to fish there
-and there are dogfish that i have seen swimming in the very shallow water along the bank, but they have always eluded me with rod and reel.
I take about 2-8 hours out of my days in the summer; i’m still in school, and as much as i can fish in the fall and spring, i do, but because of homework, etc. i can’t as much during those times.
Thanks,
~Summer
